I've been using several of these bottles, daily, for several years. Don't know how they should be expected to be indestructible. The key factoid is how much water remains in one of these bottles when they're dropped; a gallon of water isn't featherweight. Empty bottles merely bounce. For full bottles, it's a matter of drop distance to what kind of surface. Partially-full bottles are much more resilient. I have irreparably cracked one; it was freshly filled and I dropped it onto concrete...stuff happens. They're otherwise sturdy, including the form factor handles. While I currently use these bottles for indoor household purposes, I've been lifelong car camper and outdoorsman who's used water containers of a variety of sizes and materials. These bottles are my preference among all of my previous selections. There can be no perfect bottle but these have proven to meet my needs as well as any other. Despite my paranoia about their ordinary-looking cap has not been supported. Their price is easily justified by their serviceability. As I finish this review, I intend to order another one; I dropped a 3/4-full bottle on rubbery vinyl flooring...no crack, just a new blemish that won't leak. But I prefer a spare, just in case. YMMV, but I'm sold on this product.
