IMO this is the best face covering for winter sports or literally any activity great white tundra! I was concerned about the thickness of the neoprene material compared to my Gator of 27-years. I concede that my old Gator feels thicker; however, the caliper does not lie. I believe the reason my old Gator feels thicker is that over the years the inside lining has developed pills in the neoprene fleece. The lower neck fleece feels exactly the same thickness.
