Success or pride can easily go to a person's head if they are not careful. Then, unfortunately, the consequences can be devastating. It's like a bell-shaped curve on a graph. The line goes up and then suddenly takes a turn downward. Pride can ruin the day for any one. A tragic experience.Prime-Time Pitcher is that kind of a story. Koby Caplin, main character, is doing great on the Monticello Middle School baseball team until he is interviewed by a TV newsman for a documentary. Now, with lots of attention Koby gets a swollen head. Soon thereafter, he forgets about teamwork, the baseball team starts to lose ball games, he nearly loses all his friends, and Monticello nearly blows the conference championship. Surely, everything appears to be going south.Once again, Matt Christopher, gives readers a fast-paced, easy to read story with lots of action, and I like it. Marvin P.
