SO, I'm spank the baby butt new to paddleboarding - got this PFD as an add-on to my iSUP order, and found a video on youtube on proper fitting - I love this PFD - the most comfortable one I've ever worn! Once you fit it PROPERLY, it is very comfortable, will not slip off and allows great upper body/arm freedom of movement! The only trepidation I have is the flotation rating, which is 70 (means in sight of shore) but I am HIGHLY unlikely to be where I can't see shore as I'm not the world's best swimmer. I AM confident that this PFD will provide the flotation protection I need for mastering m paddleboard. In my humble opinion, however, if you are a hardcore kayaker or radical adrenaline junkie, you might wanna look for a PFD rated for open water? But I love this thing, I made the right choice! (PD Im kind of a chunky girl, but I can still adjust the fit so it doesn't slide up n smother me!This is the most comfortable life vest I have ever had! It's light, open, supportive (I tested the functionality in the lake and it works great). My favorite thing about it is the shoulder/neck design that does not ride up and choke you like most life vests. The range of motion is amazing, I can row in my kayak for hours with complete freedom. I honestly forget I am even wearing it!My only complaint is that you really do look like a total potato with it on. It sticks out quick a bit in the front so it *looks* a bit bulkier than most life jackets, though it does not feel bulky at all. I personally go for comfort over fashion any day and do not mind the trade off at all, but fashion lovers should beware. Otherwise, this is a 5 start product.I love this vest and never want any other kind!Very satisfied with this life vest. It's comfortable and allows plenty of freedom of movement. Before I ordered, I read the reviews and some people suggested ordering a size smaller. I decided to visit my local Dunham's store to see if they had kayak life vests. It turns out they carried this exact Onyx life vest. They only had Med-Large in stock, so I tried one on and it was too big. I'm a 5'7" female with a medium build and wear a women's large t-shirt. Being that the life vest is unisex, it makes sense that their Med-Large was too big. So glad I found one to try on before I ordered. I then proceeded to order the Ex-Small-Small from Amazon and it fits very well.I needed a jacket for when I would paddle. For the pricepoint, the style, and the color, you can't beat this price if you don't want to drop $100, and it is coast guard approved.Used sizing guide…fits great (large chested lady…42DD). Bought for paddle boarding and canoeing….doesn’t ride up, have full range of motion. More comfortable that traditional full-length PFD for paddling sports.Great vests for kayaking or even boating. Highly adjustable and fits almost anyone. Very comfortable and useable in kayak.Love this vest. Very comfy. But SIZE DOWN!!I did after reading reviews on here. I am usually a M/L. I ordered XS/S, and it’s still spacious on me.Nice product and great for the price.. Recently purchased a pair, and they did an awesome job saving my pride, on the grand Kayak voyage.. Totally unexpected, my fault, and quite a funny moment that I'll keep to myself, but lets just say,, I felt Totally secured while floating around in the lake afterward..lol My wife still won't let it go..lol The colors choice was cool and fit nicely. You won't go wrong in my opinion.. I'll let you know how they hold up after my next adventure.. Until then, enjoy them while the season lasts..Great vest like other have said BUT be careful what size you ordered.I didn't understand on of the reviewers saying that this vest is for experience paddler since the fit of the vest was not perfect (i.e. it may slip off if you fall into the water) Well I think that's a problem for advance or beginner paddlers! So the first size I ordered had this problem. I measured myself and according to the size chart I needed a M/L. I found it looked awkward on and loose even when I have fully tightened the straps. I decided to get the Small and everything fit great after that! It doesn't feel bulky and freedom of movement is excellent. I use it for paddle boarding. I even have used it to go tubing and it keeps me afloat even when I'm thrown off the tube at high speeds!Overall great vest BUT keep in mind to go smaller if you are on the slim slide - for reference I'm 5'11 160lb and the small is perfect for me.I haven’t used it yet but I’m excited to! I wanted a life jacket that would fit someone with a larger chest and also allow for good movement. Most life jackets I find ride up on me while I’m sitting so the neck and shoulders are up around my ears! This one seems like it won’t do that at all. My chest is approx 52” around and I have lots of room left with the straps! The arm holes are nice and big which I love. Hopefully it’s as good in the water as it is in my kitchen. I’ve also taken some pictures of the inside of the jacket and tags so you can see how it’s rated. This is not a life jacket meant for crazy waves, it’s meant for calmer water but that’s exactly what I need.I have 15 yrs experience at sea kayaking & boating.ONYX Life Vest:No Safety Buckle/Clasp at front, top of zipper to prevent PFD from accidentally unzipping or popping open.No Safety Buckle/Clasp at front, bottom of PFD to prevent body from accidentally slipping through vest.I purchased the correct size & securely tightened the Side Straps, yet my body still slid down through vest.Very disappointed, clearly not a safe design, so promptly returned for full refund.Seller delayed refund, so Amazon stepped in to secure refund for me, thank you!I will not purchase anything from this seller again.Overall a good product, though not tried yet, but the sizing is way off. Ordered the smallest adult size, supposed to fit 28'' chest to 36'' chest according to label on product. I am 35'' in the bust and all the straps are at the tightest fitting. My partner is closer to 39'' in the bust and there is still plenty of room for a larger person. The foam panels would need to be smaller for a person smaller than myself. Also the accent colour is a rather ugly green not aqua.Amazing paddle board jacket! Lots of arm space for maneuvering and doesn’t bulk up around my head when out of the water. I was concerned if I was wearing it in the water unconscious that it wouldn’t keep my head afloat but I was totally wrong! Very safe jacket to wear and doesn’t get in the way during water sports! Purchased a second one a week after receiving it!
