Got this a Christmas gift from the wife. (excellent gift by the way) I use it at the gym for my cardio workout cause I hate jogging. Haven't used it to much maybe 6 times. But works amazing such a relief to just swim and not be trying to guess at how many laps I've done or how far I've gone which was actually more confusing then you think I'd lose track after about 10 laps and think I've swam 25 when maybe I did 22 or 29 but with this watch it counts for you so you have peace of mind its been 99%accuarte so far one session I used it and was on lap 6 but it said 5 I think it missed one because I pushed off the wall to fast and didn't glide very well this is the only lap it missed and I've done probably 150-180 laps in total so to miss one who cares its still 100times more accurate then if I was to try and remember them all in my head on my own. also counts calories which is so helpful maybe you want to swim to burn calories and don't care about distance so much so you can just keep swimming til you burned your 100 or 150 or 200 calories then you'll also see your laps and time and distance and everything else it makes swimming so much more relaxing and enjoyable. I haven't used the open water feature yet as I am in Canada and it is winter don't feel like any polar bear swims yet wait til summer. As for the quality as some reviews have had issue with leaks well they must have gotten a bad one or don't know how to take care of things mine has been perfect looks strong feels solid it says in the little manuel not to push buttons under water so just don't do that and it'll be fine. in short amazing watch does everything you need reasonable price. and a review that is 100% honest. hope this helps
