I do my own fletching, with a helical twist, and a this does not interfere with (or damage) the fletching, and gives good, accurate shots every time. The filaments are held in place by the metal ring around the edge. It's easy to use a big pair of wire cutters to cut off a segment (to provide a notch to sight through - I'm a traditional shooter) - using that tool also provides a solid crimp at the cut edges so all the filaments stay securely in place.I was hoping for the biscuit with the two holes on the bottom that would make it easy to attach to a slingshot to make a slingbow. However, this item does not have those. Its just the disk with the bristles...exactly as pictured. It otherwise seems like a good product if you were to use it for its original intent. Amazon made returning the item for credit very easy.Big fan of the wiskerbiscuit for hunting. even with all the drop away technology and new designs the biscuit is just something that you can rely on. when you knock you arrow you rest is one less thing you have to worry about.Works greatTrophy Ridge Original Biscuit Arrow Rest is an excellent product. Just what I needed to set up a slingbow for hunting. Helps keep the arrow on target. After watching "Slingshot Channel.com" I began making a sling-bow and needed this product to complete the project. It was priced right and shipped promptly.I actually used this on a custom "half breed" bow and it works perfectly. Arrow slides through easy, not losing any velocityI WAS USING ALUMINIUM ARROWS AND I CHANGE TO CARBON ARROWS ,I LOVE IT ,THANK YOU VERY MUCH !! GERALD !!Replacement whisker biscuit. Its just like picture. The biscuit is cut at the black part presumably so you have to use it needle and thread style when loading arrows. It's cheaper than the replacement that has a cutaway which in my opinion is way overpriced. It would be possible to use it without black part on the bottom, perhaps by reinforcing the bristles with some glue for longer lasting action. I'll probably get used to loading arrows by threading but I haven't got it set up yet. It works with cheaper knockoff rest holders as well.EDIT: I used a dremel to cut the black hairs out so there's only brown hairs everywhere. I needed it to work quickshot style because my release was in the way when loading arrows. If I would shoot fingers I wouldn't have an issue. It works great so far. I will update if it presents any problems in bristle quality within one year
