Bought these as an alternative to taping my finger every time I fish. I am a surf caster that fishes at least 3 or 4 times per week from mid May to mid October. I needed something to protect my hands from the rocks I fish off (barnacle covered nite mares), and my casting finger from ultra thin braid. I throw heavy plugs and jigs and casting distance is of utmost importance to me. These gloves have been the best I have come across. These gloves are a perfect fit for my hands and fishing style. They have held up to the abuse I have put them through so far. My hands are also far less torn up then they usually are at this point in the season. I still carry the tape in my bag but haven't pulled it out once since these have arrived. I would, and do recommend them to anyone who surf casts. If and when they do wear out I will be getting another pair.
